A TT rider was fined £250 for not acting appropriately in a yellow flag situation in this years TT races held in June.
During the 2010 races the Autocycle Union (ACU) received reports from the marshals of incidents where they believed riders had ignored a yellow flag situation.
Marshals had waved the flags requesting that riders slow down due to an incident occurring further ahead on the course.
The ACU reviewed these reports including interviewing each of the riders reported individually. It decided that one rider did not act appropriately and was fined £250.
In a statement issued by the ACU it said it considered the failure to respond appropriately to a yellow flag situation "an extremely serious offence".
The investigation came after criticism from marshals during both practice and race sessions and debates on internet forums.
The team of a rider killed in the Supersport TT also withdrew from the racing. New Zealander Paul Dobbs crashed at Ballagarey in Marown.
Team owner Neil Hallett expressed his "utter disgust" at riders who allegedly went through at race speed under the waved yellow flags.
He said: "They know who they are and their huge ego's will never let them realise what they did but I do hope that someone in the organising group can bring some of these people to some kind of justice. It can't help Paul but it could stop an even bigger tragedy the next time there is a serious incident."
Update: The ACU Race Direction has said it will continue to work with both riders and the Isle of Man TT Marshals Association ahead of the 2011 TT Races to ensure ongoing improvements are made in this area.
