Vandals target Christmas forest

by isleofman.com 13th December 2010

Vandals in Castletown targeted Christmas decorations in the grounds of Castle Rushen last night (Sunday).

A number of lights were broken and a reindeer model was removed from Speaker’s garden.

Castletown Commissioners say the damage happened after yesterday’s Tinseltown Christmas festival, while the gates to the gardens were locked.

The gardens had been transformed into an enchanted forest for the event.

But he’ll be relocating to a replacement grotto in the Civic Centre this afternoon because of safety concerns over the damaged lights.

Commissioners say they’ll replace the lights in time for the last day of the festival on Saturday (December 18).
