THE acclaimed animated film Up will be shown as the last film of the Films in Peel autumn season.
It will be screened at Peel Centenary Centre on Wednesday, December 22 at 6.30pm.
Up (cert U) tells the tale of 78-year-old Carl Frederikson who ties thousands of balloons to his home so he can fly away and fulfill his dream of visiting the wilds of South America.
However, he soon finds he has a stowaway on board, an eight year-old-boy called Russell who is just trying to get his Help a Pensioner award.
Together they embark on a fantastic adventure encountering all sorts of fabulous birds and beasts along the way.
Doors open at 6pm.
Meanwhile the Films in Peel movie evenings are moving back to regular Wednesdays in the New Year.
The first film, on Wednesday, January 12, will be Grease sing-a-long (cert PG) which is expected to be very popular.
The Films in Peel committee suggests buying a ticket early as they are expecting it to be a big hit.
Committee member and usher Jenny Oliver said: "We will be encouraging the audience to dress up if they want to and of course sing along. It will be the perfect medicine for those January blues!"
Tickets for all shows are £4 (£3 concessions) and are available two weeks in advance from Celtic Gold in Peel.
Reservation tickets with seat guarantee are available from Shakti Man (Ramsey), Peter Norris and Mostly Manx (Douglas) and Thompson Travel (Port Erin). Any unsold tickets are available on the door.
