by isleofman.com 13th December 2010

POLICE are appealing for information after a black Mercedes A200 and two mobile phones were stolen from a property in Douglas on Saturday.

Between 10pm and 2am on Saturday, December 11, the keys to the Mercedes, registration JMN 618X, and two Nokia phones were taken from an address on Glen Falcon Terrace, Douglas.

The car was later found abandoned in the area of Windy Corner on the Mountain Road.

PC Andy Lee said: "Fortunately this type of incident is extremely rare on the Isle of Man but I would urge all homeowners to check and ensure that their doors and windows are fully secure when leaving their property - particularly around this festive time of the year."

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Glen Falcon Terrace during the time the items were taken, anyone who saw the car being driven, or anyone who has been offered a Nokia 6500 or Nokia 6310 mobile phone for sale in the last two days.

Anyone with information should contact PC Andy Lee at Douglas Police Station on 01624 631212.
