Re-captured prisoner in court

A man who tried to escaped from prison guards while he was being taken to a medical appointment has appeared in court.

Twenty two year old Steven Jonathan Corkill, whose address was given as care of the prison, appeared before the High Bailiff charged with escaping from lawful custody, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon.

He escaped from his escorts whilst being transported to Douglas but was re-captured a short time later.

Corkill was remanded in custody until 14th.

He's currently serving a six year sentence for drug offences.
