Escaped prisoner caught by police

A PRISONER who escaped this afternoon (Friday) has been caught by police.

 

The 22-year-old, who is serving a six year sentence in Jurby prison for drugs offences, was being escorted to an appointment in Douglas when he escaped from his escorts and ran off.

 

It happened at 2.10pm and following a police operation he was arrested in Pulrose at 3.25pm by officers from the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team.

 

The man is currently being detained at police headquarters.

 

Police said no-one was harmed as a result of the incident and the community was not placed at risk.
