THE story of one man's ambition to ride in the Isle of Man TT could be turned into a film.
Canadian Mark Gardiner quit his job, sold everything he owned and spent his life savings so he could live in the Isle of Man and study the TT course in preparation for the 2002 TT races.
His story was told in the documentary One Man's Island while Mark wrote a book, Riding Man, about his experiences.
Now there is a possibility his story could be turned into a film.
Motor Cyclist magazine states that last summer Mark was approached by Tom Guttry, a Hollywood insider and an avid motorcyclist who fell in love with the story.
He asked Mark if the film rights for Riding Man were available and when he learned that they were he set up a meeting between Mark and Mark Clayman, who was the executive producer of the Will Smith film Pursuit of Happyness.
Motor Cyclist quotes Mark as saying: "Frankly, I don't know who was more skeptical that Riding Man could survive in Hollywood, Clayman or me.
"But after bouncing it around for a few hours, I agreed to go home to Kansas City and write a treatment for a feature based on Riding Man."
It is currently being pitched in Hollywood and New York.
