STATUS Quo proved why they are a much-loved rock institution when they gave a high-energy performance at the Villa Marina in Douglas.
Reporting on the show in July, isleofman.com chief reporter John Gregory said: "It was quite obvious to me, within minutes, why the band - who last played at the Villa for TT 2008 - have such a passionate following.
"I was surprised at just how energetic the show was - frontmen Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt seemed more in shape than bands more than half their age. They have been around long enough to know exactly what their fans want and they delivered.
"The show was relentless rock and roll with hardly any room for a breath and the gig attracted fans of all ages - from small children to grandparents.
"They kicked off the set with firm favourite Caroline and over the course of the night played tracks such as Living On An Island and In the Army Now, before hitting the audience with the likes of Down Down, Whatever You Want and Rockin' All Over The World.
"Status Quo live do what you expect: there was no tricks or gimmicks, no diversions into any other kind of music, just a good rocking band with Rossi and Parfitt wearing out their Fender Telecaster guitars with riffs and guitar licks galore.
"The crowd loved it and whether you love them or hate them I absolutely couldn't fault them. The band did exactly what they have done all their careers - play no frills rock and made an audience very happy and they will move onto the next gig and do it all again.
"It's a winning formula and the Villa crowd loved every second."
