THE Yn Chruinnaght inter-Celtic festival held at venues throughout the Island was hailed a success.
Yn Chruinnaght, which means The Gathering, is a celebration of Manx Culture and the relationship between the Isle of Man and the other five Celtic countries - Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany.
Manx music specialist for the Manx Heritage Foundation Chloe Woolley, said: "Now in its 33rd year, the annual Yn Chruinnaght festival proved to be another fabulous celebration of the Isle of Man’s relationship with the five other Celtic nations.
"With an inspiring youth concert, outdoor music and dance displays, fascinating lectures, the opportunity to try out dances from Brittany, Cornwall and Wales, packed-out concerts with top Celtic stars such as the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Emily Smith and Beoga and lively pub music sessions going on into the small hours, Yn Chruinnaght 2010 had something for everyone.
"The committee are already looking towards next year's festival, and, as usual, will be scouting for the crème-de-la-crème of the Celtic music and dance world. Provisional dates for 2011 are Monday 18 – Sunday 23 July. Keep an eye out for news on www.ynchruinnaght.com"
