Digital inclusion on BIC agenda

by isleofman.com 10th December 2010

The Chief Executive of Age Concern on the Island says she's delighted the next meeting of the British Irish Council will examine progress being made in digital inclusion.

The 15th meeting of the BIC takes place at the Villa Marina on Monday (December 13).

It will see senior politicians from sovereign governments, devolved institutions and crown dependencies gather to discuss a wide range of issues including the global economic outlook.

Work on digital inclusion has been led by a Manx delegation.

Penny Creighton says Age Concern has had amazing success helping older people benefit from using a computer to get on-line, an initiative which started when they were given funding to buy five laptops.
