Five Island ice skaters have the Ice Factor

by isleofman.com 9th December 2010

FIVE of the best ice skaters in the Island are one step closer to winning this year's Ice Factor competition.

More than 20 competitors auditioned for a place in the final and were judged by Dancing on Ice winner Kyran Bracken.

The finalists who will go on to compete in the grand final on Monday, January 3, were announced as – Pauline and Chloe Dolman of Douglas, Michaela Robinson of Port Erin, Anna Tinker of Colby, Beth Brown and Elizabeth Tamarova both of Douglas.

Each finalist has been given a golden pass to the ice rink which is located in the Villa Marina Gardens. This will give them unlimited access to the rink so that they can practice in the run up to the final.

Kate Hegarty, marketing manager for Sure, said: "We had a great weekend of events to launch the second Sure Winter Skate season and Ice Factor was definitely a highlight. It was a great turnout and there were a lot of excellent skaters so the choice was tough for Kyran. I would like to say well done to all those who took part and congratulations to our five finalists."

As well as being crowned the winner of Ice Factor one lucky skater will win a pair of signed ice skates from Kyran Bracken.

Sure Winter Skate is open everyday until Monday, January 3, from 9am to 10pm.
