Annand takes honours

Veteran shooter Victor Annand took the honours in the opening round of the Winter Down the Line League at the Meary Veg ranges on Sunday.

In clear but cold conditions, he scored 135 to finish two points ahead of Mike Walker, with Stan Skinner third on count-back, ahead of Peter Kelly.

Robert Watterson and George Noble took the Junior and Veteran prizes respectively.

This coming Sunday sees the second round of the Winter Sporting League at Santon.

The Christmas shoot will take place on Monday, December 27, and will be followed by a carvery meal at the Crosby Hotel.
