Billy 'overwhelmed' by special award

A surprise category was announced at the 2010 Isle of Man Tourism Awards.

Billy Stowell, the visitor services assistant at the Nautical Museum in Castletown, was given a special prize for his outstanding contribution to the industry.

The museum was also named best attraction of the year during a ceremony at the Empress Hotel.

Mr Stowell was overwhelmed by his double success (play audio file):

There are nine categories in the Isle of Man Tourism Awards, including best customer service, best eating out experience and best town.

They recognise the efforts made by individuals and organisations in their commitment to quality and service, and are in their fifth year.
