Missing battery replaced after fire!

by isleofman.com 7th December 2010

A Colby resident needed treatment for smoke inhalation after their washing machine caught fire this morning (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Port Erin and Castletown were called to the house on Main Road just before 9.30am.

They used a CO2 extinguisher to bring the flames under control.

Although a smoke detector was fitted, the battery had been removed, so fire officers put in a new one before leaving.
