More suggestion boxes on the way?

Onchan MHK Peter Karran is calling for a government-wide scheme to encourage staff to suggest efficiency savings.

In the House of Keys today (Tuesday), he was told only four government departments and public bodies currently operated staff suggestion schemes, namely the Department of Health, the Financial Supervision Commission, the Manx Electricity Authority and the Leisure Division.

Three offer staff rewards if a suggestion is put into practice.

Chief Minister Tony Brown told Mr Karran he would be willing to look at extending the scheme across all departments.

He says feedback from staff has been encouraging:
