by isleofman.com 7th December 2010

TWO cars ended up on their roofs and a casualty had to be cut out of a car by firefighters as a result of three seperate traffic collisions.

Firefighters were called to a one car crash at Kewaigue Hill yesterday at 11.10pm, a two vehicle collision at the 11th milestone at 7.55am today and a one car crash at West Kimmeragh Road, Bride at 8.15am.

Station officer Carl Kinvig said: "The freezing weather conditions overnight and into this morning have been a busy time for the emergency services.

"Douglas crews were initially called to a one vehicle road traffic collision at Kewaigue where a vehicle had ended up on its roof. One person was removed uninjured from the collision.

"This morning crews from Douglas and Kirk Michael were called to a second road traffic collision at the 11th Milestone involving two vehicles.

"One casualty was removed to hospital via ambulance after being extricated by crews using cutting equipment.

"During this incident Ramsey crews were called to a one vehicle road traffic collision in Bride. On arrival crews found the vehicle on its roof and the occupants already out of the vehicle."

The TT course from Ballig Bridge to Douglas Road Corner was closed to traffic for a couple of hours this morning following the collision at the 11th milestone.

The emergency services are advising motorists to take extra care on the roads during this extremely cold period and urging them to only make essential journeys and to allow extra time.
