Christmas comedy club at the Villa

by isleofman.com 6th December 2010

ARE you ready to laugh your Christmas socks off?

If so, pop along to the next comedy club which takes place at the Promenade Suite at the Villa Marina, Douglas, a week on Thursday (December 16).

The MC is Dave Twentyman who is a rising star of North West comedy.

He recently won the St Helens Comedian of the Year competition and was promptly tipped to follow the success of fellow St Helens comic Johnny Vegas.

The opening act is Anil Desai who side stepped drama school and opted to learn comedy 'on the job'.

He began to train himself with his natural abilities as a mimic and comic performer and spent any spare time he had observing the many different people around him, be it his own friends and family or famous faces on screen.

Nearing the end of 2005 Anil made the leap to do straight stand up using his plethora of impressions.

The headline act is Gerry K who first hit the stage in 2003.

An energetic and likeable personality, Gerry has won The Comedy Store's King Gong, Metrolife Comedy Newcomer and The Comedy Cafe's Best Newcomer awards.

Following recent successes he has performed several headline spots and now performs regularly at many corporate events. Gerry's even hosted the football forum with Jeff Stelling and Rodney Marsh for Zoo Magazine.

The comedy club is for over 18s only. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8.30pm.

For tickets ring 600555.
