Duo team-up to tackle Cavendish

by isleofman.com 6th December 2010

A leading cycling team has unveiled a master-plan it hopes will help beat the ‘Manx Missile’ Mark Cavendish in next year’s Tour de France and other big stage races.

Garmin-Cervelo plans to team its new recruit, road race world champion Thor Hushovd, with Tyler Farrar in 2011.

By acting as leadout man for Farrar, Hushovd - twice a winner of the sprinters’ title at La Tour - will effectively be sacrificing any realistic chance of taking the green jersey himself.
