Too busy to attend freedom ceremony?

Douglas Council has given up attempting to arrange a presentation ceremony to formally confer the freedom of the borough on cycling superstar Mark Cavendish.

After well over two years of talking to agents to try and agree a mutually convenient date, it's been decided to hang the specially commissioned illuminated address in the town hall, and wait for Cav to get in touch.

Leader of the council David Christian says it's disappointing, and something of a slur:
