Countdown to Christmas begins!

by isleofman.com 3rd December 2010

Ramsey’s Christmas lights are being switched on this afternoon and evening (Friday).

The Britannia International tree, located in Parliament Square, is being illuminated at 4.15pm, with Diane O'Brien of Manx Mencap, the bank’s charity of the year for 2011, flicking the switch.

Half an hour later, at 4.45pm, the Royal British Legion Poppy Princess, ten-year-old Emma Malpass, will help switch on the Rotary Club of Ramsey Christmas tree and festive lighting, outside the town's courthouse.

Emma will be accompanied by her father, Nigel Malpass, who is the chairman of the town's commissioners.
