Weather Hits Sport Again

This weekend's sport is taking a hit from the freezing weather.

In Football, all Douglas Corporation pitches are frozen and will remain closed on both Saturday and Sunday.

Tomorrow's postponements so far are:-

Premier League - Ayre v Laxey, St. George's v Castletown and St. Mary's v Ramsey....Division Two - Douglas & District v Police, Foxdale v Marown, Malew v Colby and Union Mills v Onchan....Combination One - Rushen v Corinthians....Combination Two - Colby v Malew, Marown v Foxdale, Police v Douglas & District and Pulrose v Ramsey Youth Centre.

Tomorrow morning's St. George's under-9 Football training session at Glencrutchery Road, the Ramsey Youth Centre training usually held at 11am, Rushen junior training plus Corinthians under-7 and under-9 training are all cancelled.

In Rugby, both Manx Plate semi-finals have been postponed - Castletown and Ramsey "B" Emerging Nomads v Vagabonds "B".

In Hockey, the astro pitches have suffered during the past fortnight with a number of training sessions cancelled.

All matches at the National Sports Centre in Douglas and King William's College are off for the entire weekend.

However, the pitches at Castle Rushen, Peel and Ramsey are open - the Manx Hockey Assocation will inspect again early tomorrow morning, as another cold night is forecast, to make sure they are playable.
