BARCLAYS Wealth has raised more than £8,000 for two Island charities after an indoor team triathlon.

Their goals were to row 82 miles from Douglas to Liverpool, cycle the 37.77 miles of the TT Course four times and climb the 620 metres of Snaefell eight times.

Seven teams took part including Barclays Wealth, SMP, KPMG, Cube, Friends Provident International, Carrefour and Manx Telecom.

Andy Booth, head of local markets in the Isle of Man, said: "We've had a great couple of days in the branch managing to exceed our £5,000 fundraising target and raising £8,450 for the two charities.

"I would like to thank all the teams who took part and Carrefour for very kindly providing the exercise machines and changing facilities.

"I would also like to thank Barclays customers for their generous donations throughout the day."

The money will be donated to BallaAfrica and Crossroads Caring for Carers.
