YOUNG drivers have been given a valuable insight into how to make sure their cars are roadworthy.
Police officers from the Safer Schools Team within the Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team and colleagues from the Vehicle Testing Centre and Institute of Advanced Motorists spoke to students from Castle Rushen High School.
As well as informing the students as to why the police run car safety campaigns the students were also shown how to ensure that their vehicles are safe for the road.
Sergeant Rosie Hawes said the day was a success and many of the students expressed a desire to sign up on the Institute of Advanced Motorists advanced driving course.
One student commented: "That was really worth listening to. We learned how to make sure our cars were roadworthy and what to check which was especially helpful for us as new drivers."
