DVD on history of fortifications

There's a chance to learn about more than 40 sites on the Island which were fortified over the years.

'Castles and Forts of the Isle of Man' is a new DVD featuring nearly 3,000 years of history, from the earliest hill and promontory forts to the great castles at Castletown and Peel.

Using computer graphics, animation and aerial photography, it also paints a fascinating picture of the turbulent life and times of those who built and lived in the structures.

The DVD has been produced and directed by Charles Guard of the Manx Heritage Foundation:
