THE latest results from the Isle of Man Squash Rackets Association:

A League

Monday, December 1:

Result: Deloitte (134) v Motorvation (106)

The weather took its toll on Monday's fixtures with only the match between Deloitte and Motorvation going ahead.

First on court for Deloitte was Thom Whiteway against Mike Hayler. Whiteway made Hayler run around a lot and, using the freezing NSC courts to his advantage, took the first 15-9.

The second game saw Hayler add another layer but Whiteway still took the game 15-9.

The third saw Whiteway slacken off the pace but he still managed to take the game 15-9 and the match 45-24.

Next on court was Mason McLarney against Ben Atkinson of Motorvation.

McLarney took control of the first game with his drop shots too good for his opponent to win 15-9.

The second game saw Atkinson get some coaching pointers from team Captain Dave Griffiths which seemed to work and, using volley drops very well he took the game 15-8.

In the third Atkinson made too many unforced errors giving McLarney the game 15-9.

In the fourth McLarney made the better start, and continued it throughout, holding off a late comeback to win 15-13, and 45-37 overall.

Last on court was Dave Griffiths and Pat Russell the first game was very close with Griffiths winning 15-14.

Russell came back to take the second 15-5 and the third again close at 15-14. The last two games went to Griffiths and his superior drop shots winning 45-44 overall.
