TOURISM officials have said the new 2011 holiday guide which has just been published is an important marketing tool for the Isle of Man.

Isle of Man Tourism has produced 100,000 copies of the 60 page guide which will be distributed free of charge to potential visitors.

They will also be widely distributed throughout the UK and Ireland through various marketing activities staged throughout the year.

Tourism Member Geoff Corkish MHK commented: "The guide is still a very important part of our marketing campaign. We know that many of our visitors book their holiday having looked through the official holiday guide and it is our aim to improve it every year."

Economic Development Minister Allan Bell MHK said: "The 2011 guide features a cover photo of Peel Castle to promote the Island's great heritage while inside there is new photography including images which have been successful in our annual tourism photo competitions.

"It portrays the real Isle of Man in terms of its countryside, heritage, activities and events and we look forward to visitors enjoying all our beautiful Island has to offer next year."
