Gritters employed by the Department of Infrastructure are continuing a well rehearsed routine, to keep the Island's road as clear as possible of snow and ice.
Nine teams, including four with bulk gritters, started at 5am today (Wednesday), and were due to continue working until late this evening.
A further nine teams have been clearing and gritting footways, and refilling salt bins.
With temperatures expected to fall to minus two Celsius in sheletered places overnight, it is planned to pre-salt the primary 'main' routes from 5am tomorrow.
Motorists are again being advised to drive with caution, this evening and tomorrow.
