Affordable housing planned for Bride village

by isleofman.com 1st December 2010

A PLANNING order which if approved would grant approval in principle for a residential development in Bride has been brought forward.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne MHK has brought the order forward and is asking for comments and suggestions to be submitted by January 14.

The residential development would spread over three acres of land from Ballakilley Hill to Lambhill Road. The land in the village is owned by the department and access to most of the houses would be via a new road through the public car park which is also owned by government.

The substantial majority of the new houses would be either "affordable units" or public-sector units.

Copies of the planning order and a background statement can be obtained from the department's offices in Murray House or on the department website at www.gov.im/infrastructure/planning.
