Public asked to buy an extra present for a deserving child this Christmas

by isleofman.com 1st December 2010

GENEROUS residents are being asked to pick up an extra Christmas present for a deserving child when out shopping this year.

The Santa's Little Helpers Appeal, organised by The Children's Centre, Bradford and Bingley International and 3FM, is now underway.

The appeal is an opportunity for people to donate new toys which will then be distributed by The Children's Centre to families that need them the most.

Michelle O'Malley, fundraising manager for the charity, said: "We never fail to be amazed by the generosity of the Manx community. By donating even one toy you are making a huge difference to a child's Christmas.

"We're so grateful to Bradford and Bingley International and 3FM for everything they do and we're so happy we're able to work with other charities and organisations to make sure presents go to those who need them most."

George Campbell, community affairs manager for Bradford and Bingley International, said: "We are really proud of the work we do with local charities and we just love getting out and about collecting toys for the Santa's Little Helpers Appeal."

Santa's helpers will be out over the next few weekends collecting toys from a number of locations around the Island. Gifts can also be dropped into Bradford and Bingley International, 3FM, or directly to The Children's Centre.
