Nearly ?2 million earmarked to preserve parts of the Queen's Pier in Ramsey could be put to better use, according to one of the town's commissioners.
Tynwald agreed to the move earlier this year with the pier in urgent need of repair and safety work.
However, Ramsey commissioner Leonard Singer says while spending that money makes sense, it should instead be used for part refurbishment before fully restoring the Victorian structure once government finances improve.
