Leaders beaten in Manx Shield

Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield leaders and defending champions Southern Nomads went down 22-14 to struggling Ramsey B in a game which may just cost them the title.

Mikey Craine was the hero for Ramsey with two tries and Jarred Callister also picked one up.

Another promising Ramsey youngster Dan Bonwick kicked a penalty and two conversions.

In the only other Manx Shield game to survive the weather, Castletown beat Emerging Nomads 46-15 at King Williams College.

Nick Kieswetter was the star of the show for Castletown with four tries.

There were also tries from Conor Stephens, Matty Craine and Billy Hanrahan, plus a penalty and four conversions from Sam Peel.

Nomads’ points came courtesy of a penalty, a try from Kenny Tesia, plus a penalty and a conversion from Dave Edge.
