Manx building styles feature in talk

The Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society will hear about the Island's vernacular architecture today (Saturday).

Dr Catriona Mackie from the University of Liverpool Centre for Manx Studies is giving a talk on the subject at the Manx Museum.

Dr Mackie is presenting a paper about the style of buildings on the Island, and their importance when studying the past.

It focuses on the development of the Manx house during the 18th and 19th centuries, and looks at some of the main features of traditional housing on the Island.

Start of talk: 2.30pm.
