Cancer charity will benefit from Dot tribute evening

A Douglas clothes store is holding a charity fashion show this evening (Tuesday), in memory of former mayor Dot Pitts, whose long battle with cancer ended earlier this month.

Cancer patients will take to the catwalk at M&Co in Chester Street from 7pm, with all the proceeds going to Cancer Research and the Dream Catcher Appeal.

Mrs Pitts raised thousands of pounds for cancer charities and was herself a model in previous fashion shows run by the store.

M&Co manager Fionnuala Perren says her approach to life set an example to other people suffering with the disease:
