Top charitable honour for Sir Paul

The Lieutenant Governor has been invested as a Knight of the Order of St John.

Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks is president of St John Ambulance in the Isle of Man.

The ceremony was carried out by the Duke of Gloucester, the grand prior of the order, at a service in the Priory Church of St John, in Clerkenwelll, London.

The Order of St John is the parent charity of St John Ambulance.

It is a faith-based humanitarian organisation which can trace its roots back to the 11th century, and carries out work in 40 countries.

At the same ceremony in London, the Dowager Marchioness Conyngham was invested as a Dame of the Order of St John.
