Proposals for long-term development in the south of the Island could be finalised by next July.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne revealed the news earlier this month ahead of a public inquiry in the spring.
There have been assurances in the past that a revised southern area plan would be made available, but so far they haven't come to anything.
