Council brings cheer to quayside

Douglas Borough Council has extended its Christmas lighting to include the North Quay this year.

Five thousand pounds has been made available for the purpose, and councillors are hoping traders in the area will follow their lead and make every effort to decorate their premises.

Chairman of the Public Works Committee David Ashford says North Quay has been revitalised in recent times, and the additional lighting will provide a further lift during the Christmas and New Year period (play audio file):
