Microgaming Award goes to CVI Technical Optics

by isleofman.com 19th November 2010

THE first award at last night’s Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence at the Villa Marina - for ‘Innovation and Independent Thinking’ -  was won by CVI Technical Optics, represented by Daryl Styles.

CVI Technical Optics, a global leader in the production of high energy laser optics, has produced components used in the Mars Phoenix Lander probe. The company has developed niche optical products which are unique, resulting in consistent growth for the business.

The company also designs its own in-house machinery, enabling it to manufacture products at prices below Chinese competitors - a fine example of innovation and independent thinking.

The other nominees were Crossroads Caring for Carers and Manx2.com.

The award, sponsored by Microgaming, was presented by Roger Raatgever.
