IRIS 'deficiencies' cost taxpayers millions - MHK

The Island's taxpayers could have been saved millions of pounds over the IRIS scheme, according to East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw.

In Tynwald this week he criticised a report into the multi-million pound project by the Public Accounts Committee, comparing its scrutiny to 'being mauled by your favourite duvet'.

Mr Robertshaw believes a more cost effective treatment works could have been provided, but for deficiencies in the relationship between government and its consultants:
