THE Isle of Man Newspapers ‘Company of the Year’ title at the Excellence Awards this evening will be chosen from three leading local businesses.
Sponsored by Britannia International, the award will go to either Capital International Group, MannVend or European Aviation Maintenance.
Capital International is delivering international in vestment services from its impressive new offices in Douglas. The company prides itself in playing a leading role in ensuring that the Isle of Man continues to grow as a centre of investment excellence.
Anthony Long said that Capital International had enjoyed significant growth over the past two years with excellent forecasts for the future and that the company has embraced new technology to improve efficiency.
The company continues to explore a variety of avenues for future growth.
MannVend is a family company which has moved with the times to continue to provide a high quality service delivering coffee and refreshments.
Tracy Leahy says that a number of new innovations have expanded the business in recent years, extending the network of deliveries around the Isle of Man, including the new ‘bean to cup’ coffee machines, one of the latest innovations in the vending industry.
“Customer satisfaction levels are consistently high, thanks to a focus on staff development - making MannVend one of the Island’s most refreshing success stories.”
European Aviation Maintenance (EAM) is a company which was born out of a story of job losses. A number of engineers were made redundant in 2007 and decided to create their own company.
EAM has since gone on to enjoy strong growth in difficult times for the industry as a whole, thanks to the vision and commitment of the founders from the platform of their existing skills base.
Chris Astley, one of the co-founders, said, “This is a business which has shown commitment to developing its workforce with a determination to succeed, fostering a particularly strong team spirit.”
The Britannia International Award will be presented by Mark Beresford
