More help for the Island's NEETs

The Manx government is increasing its efforts to help young people who are neither working, learning a trade or at school or college.

Unemployment figures in the summer showed at least 300 young people were classed as 'NEETs' - or Not in Education, Employment or Training.

The figure is a concern to government, given the current economic climate, and now Tynwald has supported the work being done to improve the position.

Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell says it's vitally important the issue is addressed:
