THE Barclays Wealth Award for ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ at the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence on Thursday evening will feature Merita Taylor of Royal London 360, Darren Bell of The Children’s Centre and Richard Davies of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Darren Bell obtained an apprenticeship to work at The Children’s Centre at the age of 21 - achieved through his disposition to help others.
Darren is seen is a role model to young adults with learning difficulties and devotes his free time to bring out the best in people. He is a talented athlete and has represented the Isle of Man nationally and internationally.
His skills focus on helping people with learning difficulties and he has helped turn young adult lives around and is a true inspiration to everyone he meets.
Richard Davies took over chairmanship of the Junior Chamber of Commerce at the age of 27 and has helped to increase membership, raise awareness and secure key note speakers and other events.
The Junior Chamber is committed to promoting high standards in leadership, self development and community awareness for the good of the Island.
Richard’s role has included relaunching of the JCC website, alongside his demanding job as a private banker. During his chairmanship he has also pursued further academic studies to develop his skills over and above the requirements of his career.
Merita Taylor took on the challenge of learning a completely new industry from the inside out and has been praised by Royal London 360 for her contribution to the success of the business.
She has secured a central role within the company in marketing, communications and event management, generating positive feedback for her ability to work across all channels internally and externally to drive the business forward.
The award will be presented by Greg Ellison of Barclays Wealth.
