Dressing down makes up for poppy tin theft

Police are thanking generous staff at the Department of Economic Development who stepped in after a poppy appeal tin was stolen.

Officers are still hunting the thieves who took the cash from Maughold Church, the day before Armistice Day.

But when staff at the Companies Registry heard about the theft, they held a dress down day and donated all proceeds to the Royal British Legion.

In total, they raised ?103, which has been handed over.

Police are renewing their appeal for information following the theft and anyone who can help is asked to ring Ramsey Police Station on 812234.
