Blues man happy to pay his dues

by isleofman.com 16th November 2010

Manx blues guitarist Davy Knowles says he was glad to be able to support the Island's annual blues festival, which helped launch his music career.

He appeared at the Peel Centenary Centre on Saturday as a guest with several local bands, with tickets selling out within hours of the announcement he would be playing.

The gig raised cash to host the Blues Festival in Laxey next year, which Davy regards as one of the pivotal events in his rise to stardom.

After the show, he said he was looking forward to more touring in America next year (play audio file):

Jason Roberts will present a half hour programme on Saturday's fund-raiser in Peel on Perspective, just after 6pm on Thursday.
