Commitment to provide important services

The chief minister says knee jerk reactions need to be avoided as the Manx government works out how it can best provide public services in an ever challenging climate.

A snapshot of public services and welfare benefits is the focus of a Council of Ministers report due to be laid before Tynwald this week.

Tony Brown says the ongoing budget rebalancing exercise, in the wake of the renegotiated VAT revenue sharing agreement, was never going to be easy.

However, his administration is committed to providing important services:
