DINNER for four worth £120 is the first prize in a free draw being staged by the Ballaugh restaurant Halcyon Days.
Anyone who visits the restaurant’s Farm Shop between November 15th and December 15th will receive a free entry ticket with the chance to win one of three prizes.
Dinner for four is top of the list, followed by lunch for two for second prize and a brace each of pheasant and duck is third prize.
Liz Gubby, who runs Halcyon Days with her husband Gordon, said, “Currently we are in the height of the game season so partridge, pheasant, duck, hare and rabbit are all currently available from the Farm Shop. We are also taking Xmas orders.”
Halcyon Days has also launched Christmas hampers this year. Hampers are filled to a customer’s requirements - all you have to do is turn up and choose the contents.
Meanwhile, there has been a very good response to the ‘Cookery Workshop’ announced recently. The first workshop will be staged on Saturday January 15th entitled ‘Everything You Need to Know about Game’. The second workshop - on Saturday January 29th - will be “Traditional Bread Making and Warming Winter Soups’.
The November evening dinner menu for Halcyon Days (£30 for three courses) again features a number of dishes which include produce grown on the premises. Game such as pheasant and partridge are included with some warming desserts.
The ‘Winter Warmer’ lunch menu for November (£18 for three courses) features handmade Halcyon Days bread and soup and the restaurant’s own version of luxury bread and butter pudding.
Lunch hours are 12 noon to 3pm any day by arrangement (except Sunday). Traditional Sunday roast is also available. Guests are asked to order their menu at the time of booking.
