Island caught in Northumberland storm

by isleofman.com 14th November 2010

The Isle of Man were on the receiving end of a strong Northumberland side as they bowed out of the FA County Youth Cup on Sunday.

Kevin Manning’s side went down 6-2 on the outskirts of Newcastle in round two of the competition.

From the outset, the hosts were on top and had the match sewn up with a 3-0 half-time lead.

Second half goals from Peel’s Ryan Burns and Ramsey’s Jonny Shields secured a form of respectability.
