St George’s showed exactly why they are the team to beat in Manx football as they demolished reigning champions Rushen 6-0 on Saturday.

The Geordies hit six of the best to stay six points clear at the top of the Canada Life International Premier League.

In a blistering start, the league leaders were 3-0 up inside a quarter of an hour.

Doubles from Chris Bass and Frank Jones, one from Callum Morrissey and an own goal made it a miserable day for Rushen.

Old Boys kept up the pressure at the top but were pushed hard by lowly Douglas Royal before they emerged 3-2 winners at Ballafletcher.

Two second half goals from Gary Quirk and one from Dave Quirk ensured they overturned a half-time deficit to secure all three points.
