The home affairs minister says a far-reaching criminal justice bill, due to be examined in detail by the House of Keys later this month, isn't as controversial as its critics believe.
The Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill will reach the clauses stage on November 23, when it is expected to be placed under close scrutiny.
Its six chapters cover police powers, licensing, sex and drug offences, public order and a raft of other issues.
More than 80 submissions were made by organisations and individuals in a public consultation.
