Peel Youth Centre to open on Saturday nights

by isleofman.com 13th November 2010

PEEL Youth Centre will now open on Saturday nights.

The Youth Centre, run by the Department of Education and Children, will open between 7.30pm and 10pm for students in year seven and above.

Dave Hattersley, youth officer for the west and south of the Island, said: "This is something that we have wanted to do for some time.

"We have been able to achieve it by re-arranging the available staffing hours allocated to the club - therefore giving the young people in Peel access to the facilities six nights a week."

Tracy Jones, youth and community worker at the club, said: "We will soon, with the help of the Peel Youth Project, be starting Soundcheck for up-and-coming bands in Peel on Thursdays.

"Along with opening on Saturday nights this will give us a fantastic variety of activities at the club for young people of all ages."

Peel Youth Centre is located on Shore Road in Peel.
