Road closures still in place after storm

by isleofman.com 12th November 2010

ONLY one road remains closed after the Island was battered by storm force winds last night.

Michael Street in Peel will be closed until around 9.30am due to falling slates from properties in the area.

Port Erin promenade is now passable with care but motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. The road was closed last night after fencing, which was protecting an area of missing wall, came loose.

Throughout the night Police Officers, staff from the Department of Infrastructure, and the Manx Electricity Authority attended a large number of incidents.

Motorists have been asked to be observant when driving today as there may be debris on the roads.
